Primary School activity: Design a flag for Antarctica!
Deadline: 13 November 2015
Antarctica is the coldest, driest, windiest continent – and it doesn’t have a flag! More than 50 countries work together to protect the Antarctic environment and share their scientific research using a peaceful agreement called the Antarctic Treaty System.
Antarctica Day on December 1st celebrates the peaceful protection of Antarctica as an international space. Be part of the celebration!!
Students can use the inspiration of Antarctic scenery, science and wildlife to create designs for a flag for Antarctica.
Use the flags to brighten up the classroom and choose five flags to send to Antarctica!
Here are instructions to make the flags and deliver to us in time to go to Antarctica.
This activity is organized in collaboration with Our Spaces and the UK Polar Network. For more information and inspiration, view this short video and see the Facebook page of Antarctica Day.
We look forward to seeing your flags!
