CZE: A New School Year Has Begun!
Class Zero Emission has opened its doors again for the new school year. Forty-five fifth graders from Forest were the first class of the new school year when they spent half a day on September 7th participating in the interactive CZE workshop.
Just like last year, CZE will welcome students between the ages of 10 and 18 three days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). This year, however, CZE will try to reach an even wider audience by welcoming students from technical schools and universities as well.
While the successful features from last year's workshops have remained, some improvements have been made. At the end of each workshop, teachers receive a copy of the CZE education kit. This kit contains six pedagogical dossiers, one exercise booklet and a CD-ROM. All these tools will allow teachers to continue the educational and awareness-raising work started in the CZE workshop. A series of four quizzes was designed for teachers to test their students' knowledge. The first of these is already on Educapoles, in both online interactive and pdf format.
Starting in October, science students will also be able to conduct experiments on water density, thermohaline circulation and ocean acidification.
Another novelty is that CZE is also a subscription form and sending it to: cze (at) polarfoundation (dot) org (dot)
The IPF education team wishes you a good school year!
