This CD-ROM was developed within the framework of a sensitization programme supported by the Belgian Walloon Region. Directed towards teachers and members of associations active in the field of environment, this CD-ROM tackles energy from the perspective of climate change.

The CD-ROM comprises of 15 multimedia animations. The aim is to help young people fully grasp the topic and to give them the tools for acting in favour of our environment. Various key questions are tackled:

  • What is energy and where does it come from?
  • How is energy consumed in the various sectors of Belgium and Europe?
  • What do we know about worldwide energy resources and reserves?

On top of that, the CD-ROM presents more practical topics in a dynamic and engaging way:

  • Ecological footprint
  • Passive buildings
  • Biofuels
  • Rational use of energy
  • Princess Elisabeth Station

Although the CD-ROM is already available in French, it will also be translated in English and in Dutch by the end of 2008. Anyone interested can contact the IPF. For the moment, 5000 French only copies are being handed out for free during the launching phase.
