  • The Arctic Arc - Change in Direction!

    Since they left the North Pole, Alain Hubert and Dixie Dansercoer have been progressing through very difficult conditions, which has slowed them down. They are therefore late on the expedition's schedule. The technical support team which is following them has suggested that they change their direction if they still want to reach Greeenland.

  • New Educational Material Available!

    After having reached the North Pole on April 24th, Alain Hubert and Dixie Dansercoer are now heading for Greenland. This long walk on the sea ice of the Arctic Ocean allows for teachers to discuss with their students issues concerning the water, ice and oceans. New educational material is now available on this website.

  • “Biodiversity & climate change” multimedia CD-Rom: Belgian schools wanted

    In Partnership with the Walloon Ministry of Energy (Belgium), the International Polar Foundation and the WWF are developping a new multimedia CD-Rom on Biodiversity & climate change. This new CD-Rom will be presented and tested in Belgium during September and October 2007. The IPF is looking for Walloon schools for this pilot phase. Subscribe now.

  • Cool Polar Puzzles Go Hot!

    By means of the "Puzzel je warm...experimenteer je koud" (project (warm up with puzzles... cool down with experiments), the International Polar Foundation took on the introduction of Polar Regions and Climate Change to schoolchildren and their tutors. The pole puzzle interactions were hosted at Hidrodoe, the water do-centre in Herentals, on April 17th and 24th 2007, and later on in Brussels, during the 3-day national science event WetenschapsExpoSciences at Heyzel.
