From July 16 to 20, the Italian Museo Nazionale dell'Antartide is organizing the second edition of the Polar Summer School for teachers, in Genoa. This event is intended for 12 Italian teachers who want to address polar science topics in their classrooms.

Polar Educators meet at the International Polar Year 2012 Conference in Montreal

Two members of the International Polar Foundation education team, Sandra Vanhove and Isabelle Du Four, recently participated in the final conference of the 4th International Polar Year (IPY), under the banner of “From Knowledge to Action”, in Montreal. In conjunction with this conference, the two also took part, along with 170 educators from 15 countries all over the world, in the IPY 2012 PolarEDUCATORS Workshop organized by Students on Ice.

On March 20, the Spring equinox takes place, providing the perfect opportunity to participate in the Sun Shadows project and to follow in the footsteps of the Greek scholar Eratosthenes, who made a surprisingly accurate estimate of the earth's circumference in the 3rd century BC!
