Meeting of the Steering Committee for the ClimaTIC project

The Steering Committee of the ClimaTIC project met in Lille, France on the 12 and 13 May 2006. Three activities are to be continued for 2006 : The Comic book, the pollen analysis and the meterological station. The project partners presented the different activities proposed to students and organised the activities for 2006 and 2007.

IPF participated to the GIFT workshop in Vienna

70 teacher formators and teachers from all over Europe gathered in Vienna between the the 3rd and the 5th of April for the 4th edition of the GIFT workshop (Geophysical Information For Teachers). This year's topic was the Polar Regions. This had been decided in order to prepare the teachers for the International Polar Year which will take place between 2007 and 2008.

The interactive comicbook “The Migration of the Ibanes” is online

As part of the ClimaTIC project, Inforef and the International Polar Foundation are progressively uploading online an interactive version of the comic book produced by the IPF: "La migration des Ibanes" (currently available in English and in French)

The International Polar Foundation has translated into english, italian and german its teaching dossiers related to the comics book "The migration of the Ibanes".

The weekly “Atlas” radio show in Switzerland was dedicated to the IPF

In the Framework of the ClimaTIC project, the french-speaking Swiss radio called "la première" dedicated its weekly environmental radio show "Atlas" to the International Polar Foundation. Alain Hubert, Laurent Dubois and Didier Raboud presented the International Polar Foundation and its educational projects.
